What types of programs does your school offer?
The Bloustein School is a professional school offering a doctoral program in Planning and Public Policy; master’s degrees in Public Policy, Urban Planning and Policy Development, Public Informatics, and Health Administration; undergraduate degrees in Public Policy, Planning and Public Policy, Urban Planning and Design, Health Administration, and Public Health.
What would you list as your school's greatest accomplishments in the last 5-10 years?
The Bloustein School values interdisciplinary, applied work and is growing to meet the complex public policy needs of local communities, the state, and the world. A new masters degree program in urban and public informatics welcomed its first cohort of students in Fall 2019. In summer 2021, we established the New Jersey Policy Lab in partnership with the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers-Newark, to conduct rigorous evidence-based research that considers equity, efficiency, and efficacy of public policies and programs in holistic and innovative ways.
Why should potential students choose your school or program?
The public policy program at the Bloustein School is a small program located within a growing interdisciplinary school and a large public Research 1 university. We are able to offer a small classroom experience with strong mentoring along with access to the broad resources, services, and interdisciplinary experiences at the university as a whole.

What is your teaching/research divide?
Tenure-track and tenured faculty teach two courses per semester (fall and spring) and are expected to pursue a research profile of refereed research in high-impact journals and through conference presentations. Rutgers University - New Brunswick is a Research 1 University and thus research productivity is valued. At the same time, the Bloustein School is committed to supporting an active and inclusive educational environment and thus values strong teaching.

Faculty typically teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
