What are some of your school's core values and how do they come across in the courses and programs that you offer?

Our mission is to educate and empower leaders, advance knowledge about societies and policies, and engage diverse communities across New York City and the world to develop inclusive, adaptable, and effective institutions.

How are you helping to prepare students for careers in public service?

The Marxe School offers the tools and experience needed to become a public policy leader. Combining theory, perspectives, and practice, students analyze and think critically about today’s most pressing policy issues and how to address them with a fresh public service perspective. As New York City’s only public graduate school dedicated to public affairs, students gain experiences in and out of the classroom to inspire and energize them throughout their career.

What opportunities are available to students to get work experience while learning?

The Marxe School offers its matriculated students the opportunity to apply for part-time positions offered by Marxe staff and faculty in the form of Assistantships and Ambassadorships.

What is something unique about your institution?

We are New York City’s only public graduate school dedicated to public affairs.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

Come with an open mind and a desire to expand your thinking.

Anything else you'd like to add?

The Marxe School is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. We have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of public service education since 1994. Our 56 full time faculty and 24 part time lecturers are among the most globally diverse in the country. These prize-winning scholars, presidential professors, and sought-after experts are widely recognized in their fields, informing a broad range of public policies.
