What are some of your school's core values and how do they come across in the courses and programs that you offer?

The Brooks School's core values are purpose-driven research, educational excellence, and policy engagement. Our courses and programs are led by top research faculty committed to teaching and mentoring and all of our programs include engaged learning environments in which students apply their learning in real-world policy situations.

What types of programs do you offer?

We offer BA, BS, MPA, MHA, and PhD degree programs.

How are you helping to prepare students for careers in public service?

The Brooks School's curriculum includes a quantitative core that prepares our students for rigorous analysis in data science, economics, demographics, statistics and other disciplines crucial to careers in public service.The school’s faculty, with expertise in every region of the world, apply a global, interdisciplinary and solution-oriented focus to a broad set of public policy issues. Our careers team maintains relationships with top employers in the public and private sectors. Brooks students have the skill, exposure, and support to pursue their careers in public service wherever they are focused on making an impact.

What opportunities are available to students to get work experience while learning?

The Brooks School is a Cornell engaged college, committed to offering engaged learning courses that offer hands on experience tackling real world policy challenges in partnership with community, NGO and governmental entities.

What is something unique about your institution?

The Brooks School recently launched a first semester residential undergraduate program called DC Start, housed at the Brooks School's Wolpe Center a short walk from DuPont Circle in Washington D.C. The DC Start curriculum is designed to provide a jumpstart for first semester policy students who want to pursue careers in national and international public affairs.
