Each year, APPAM recognizes exceptional contributions to the field of public policy and honor the legacies of individuals who have made a lasting impact.
We are currently accepting nominations for the following awards, which will be presented at our Annual Fall Research Conference:
APPAM & JCPA/ICPA Best Comparative Paper Award
Recognizing excellence in comparative policy analysis as represented in papers presented at #2025APPAM. Authors may also submit their papers for consideration.
Submissions due September 15th.

Equity & Inclusion Fellowships
Fellowships recognizing the accomplishments of and providing opportunities to undergraduates, graduate students, and young professionals who have overcome substantial barriers presented by their backgrounds or life circumstances.
Applications due June 9th.

David N. Kershaw Award
Honoring persons who have made a significant contribution to the fields of public policy and public management before the age of 40. Dedicated to the memory of the late David N. Kershaw.
Nominations due June 16th.

PhD Dissertation Award
Recognizing emergent scholars who have recently completed a dissertation in public policy and management.
Nominations due July 9th.

Policy Field Distinguished Contribution Award
Honoring those who have made significant, long-term contributions to the field over the course of a career.
Nominations due July 9th.

William Spriggs Memorial Award
Honoring the legacy of William Spriggs, who reshaped the field of economics by challenging his counterparts to rethink their beliefs about racial disparities. This award recognizes fellow trailblazers who have helped develop our understanding of racial discrimination in public policy and society.
Nominations due July 9th.

World Citizen Prize in Environmental Performance
Recognizing research that paves the way to achieve measurable gains in environmental performance.
Nominations due July 9th.
