Welcome to the APPAM LGBTQ+ Researchers Community page! We are a vibrant, inclusive group dedicated to supporting and advancing LGBTQ+ research within the fields of public policy and management. Our community is a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQ+ researchers and promotes a culture of respect and diversity.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to foster a community that supports the professional and personal growth of LGBTQ+ researchers. We aim to drive impactful research, promote LGBTQ+ issues in policymaking, and build a strong network of support and collaboration.
Co-Chairs
Nathaniel Tran (They/Them) is an assistant professor at the University of Illinois, Chicago where their research evaluates how public policies shape LGBTQ+ population health. They have co-chaired the LGBTQ+ community since 2024.
Dr. Ben Harrell (he/his) is an assistant professor at Trinity University whose research focuses on LGBTQ+ health, health insurance markets, and access to care. He has co-chaired the LGBTQ+ Community since 2023.
