2017 Fall Research Conference Interview Space Opportunities
Will your organization be interviewing candidates at the APPAM Conference? Let us take care of the space!
Many institutional members use the Fall Research Conference as a meeting place to interview potential employees. To assist our members, APPAM would like to offer complimentary, private space for this purpose. APPAM is offering four boardrooms at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in half day blocks for reservation on a first come, first served basis. Once you reserve the space, you have access to the room for the entire time on the date of your reservation. At the conclusion of the reservation times each day, the room will be refreshed for use by the next organization.
The deadline for space reservations is September 29th.
Arranging Interviews
Interviewing organizations will be responsible for arranging their own candidate interviews and are welcome to host as many interviews in the space as possible within their reserved time.
Sharing Available Positions
While APPAM will not assist in arranging interviews, we are able to share your job posting in the Job Listing section of APPAM.org. To have your listing shared with these groups, please send your posting information, including title, job description, requirements, and contact information, to Tristanne Staudt, tstaudt@appam.org.
In-Suite Hospitality
Water stations will be available in each interview room, but in the event that you would like to order additional food or beverage, we can connect you with a hotel representative. All additional food and beverage purchases will be the responsibility of the interviewing organization and will work directly with the hotel for billing purposes.
2017 Fall Research Conference Affiliate Receptions
Space will be available for institutions wishing to host a reception at the Hyatt Regency Chicago during the conference. APPAM will assign space for each group, based on expected attendance and order of request. Each organization will work directly with the hotel for all catering, room setup, and AV requests. If your institution plans on holding a reception, please be aware that space will only be available on Friday, November 3rd. APPAM holds its own Welcome Reception on Thursday, November 2nd and will not assign any space opposite that event.
IMPORTANT: To reserve space for an affiliate reception, please fill out this form and return to Tristanne Staudt. Space will be assigned in early August and communicated to you for marketing purposes. Should the size of your event change, APPAM reserves the right to reassign your event to a room that is closer to expected attendance, based on final RSVP numbers. All reservation forms must be submitted by July 31, 2017.
For receptions on Friday, November 3rd: The APPAM Presidential Address is on Friday from 5:00–6:30 pm and is followed by the Presidential Reception from 6:30–7:45 pm. Receptions may not begin before 6:30 pm.
As mentioned above, all room set up, catering, and AV orders will be placed directly through the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Once space is assigned, a representative from hotel will contact you with a request for your food and beverage order.
APPAM will print an announcement of your reception for free in the final conference program book, as long as you grant permission on the provided form.
2017 Fall Research Conference PhD Program Fair
The PhD Program Fair is a great opportunity to make connections with potential PhD students. All APPAM members who have a PhD program are welcome to reserve a table for the PhD Program Fair on Friday, November 3 from 12:00 – 1:15. You will have the opportunity to reserve a table at the session and staff it with an admissions officer or someone else who could talk about the benefits of your program. You can also bring materials for distributions. This opportunity is being offered at no charge but space is limited.
